SAMANTHA GAUVREAU, M.A., PH.D. CANDIDATE

Samantha is a Ph.D. candidate in Clinical Psychology at Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU). She obtained a Bachelor of Arts and Science from McGill University as well as a Bachelor of Education at Queen’s University. Most recently, she completed her Master of Arts in Psychology from the University of Toronto followed by a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology at TMU. Samantha has received training from various hospital and community mental health settings including the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH), Kinark Child and Family Services, and St. Michael’s Hospital.

Samantha has experience supporting children, adolescents, and adults across diverse cultural backgrounds, gender and sexual identities, as well as neurodivergent and learning profiles. She has provided assessment and treatment for a range of mental health challenges including anxiety and mood-related disorders (e.g., social anxiety, panic, depression symptoms), OCD, emotional dysregulation, ADHD, trauma- and stressor-related concerns. She also collaborates closely with caregivers to provide strategies for building parenting confidence and encouraging positive skill use at home.

Samantha takes an integrative, collaborative approach to therapy, drawing on various evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI) to address each client’s unique needs, values, and goals. She strives to cultivate an inclusive, supportive environment that empowers individuals to build resilience and develop skills to navigate life’s challenges.
