YAEL GREENWOOD, M.C., R.P.
Yael is a Registered Psychotherapist, licensed with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Western University, a Master’s in Counselling Psychology from Athabasca University, and a graduate-level diploma in Art Therapy from the Toronto Art Therapy Institute. After an extensive career in child welfare, Yael provided individual counselling to students at the York University Student Counselling Centre where she developed a keen interest in working with emerging adults. Further, Yael has experience providing counselling to adolescents and adults of all ages through clinical work at a global Employee and Student Assistance Program, as well as working with college and university students at a community organization that supports students on campus. Areas of competency include (but are not limited to): ADHD, anxiety (e.g., health, social and generalized anxiety; phobias; OCD), low mood, academic/workplace stress, relationship challenges, as well as work-life balance.
Yael works from a person-centered and strengths-based approach, drawing from modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, brief solution-focused therapy, and nervous system–informed approaches. She strives to provide a safe and non-judgmental space for clients to feel comfortable exploring their emotions and experiences, while prioritizing the therapeutic relationship.
