ROBYN LAM

ROBYN LAM, M.A., R.P., C.C.C.

Robyn is a Registered Psychotherapist whose work is regulated by the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. She is also a Certified Canadian Counsellor with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. She has a Master of Arts degree in Counselling Psychology and is currently completing her Doctor of Psychology in Clinical Psychology at Adler University in Vancouver. She is working at the Framework Therapy and Assessment Centre as part of her pre-doctoral internship. Her doctoral research focuses on client outcomes in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). While her training covers diverse approaches, she is mostly grounded in two highly researched, effective, and complementary models: DBT and Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT/EFFT).

Prior to her doctoral program, she facilitated yearly DBT skills group for outpatient and residential youth. For over a decade, she has worked with diverse groups of clients to address various forms of anxiety and mood issues, substance use, life transitions, and intimate relationships. Outside of direct clinical practice, she has taught family therapy and provided clinical supervision to clinicians and graduate/medical students, and served as an Adjunct Lecturer with the University of Toronto’s Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work. At present, she is a facilitator at the SickKids CCMH Learning Institute, providing training to clinicians on working with adolescents using DBT. In addition, she has experience providing psychodiagnostic, psychoeducational, and integrative assessments for a variety of concerns, including ADHD, learning disorders, giftedness, PTSD, OCD, and mood and anxiety disorders. 

As an assessor and a clinician, she cares deeply about the work she does with her clients, both in the process and in the outcomes. She strives to facilitate a way forward for clients with hope and clarity.
