Naomi received her Masters of Social Work from the University of Toronto and is a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers.
Naomi has over 25 years clinical experience in both community and hospital-based settings. She was employed at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in the Division of Youth Psychiatry (inpatient and outpatient) for over 15 years, where she provided counselling, psychoeducation and client advocacy. As a community-based social worker, Naomi has provided counselling and rehabilitation services to clients who sustained emotional, cognitive and physical injuries as a result of personal injuries. Further, Naomi has acted as a mental health consultant within the educational system and to Primary Care Physicians.
Naomi’s comprehensive clinical experience involves counselling individuals, couples, families, and groups. She provides therapeutic support to individuals across the lifespan who are struggling with mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, grief and trauma. Also, Naomi offers support to clients who are struggling to cope with daily stressors and challenging life events. Naomi is an experienced couples and family therapist who supports clients in facilitating improved communication and understanding, as well as resolving conflict to improve overall relationship dynamics. Naomi’s practice is grounded in a client-centered, systems-based approach drawing upon the main tenants of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Solution Focussed Based Therapy, Mindfulness, Relaxation, and Stress Management.
